Why choose a ”on location” professional photographer?

A Professional Photographer is a great choice if you are wanting an on location shoot (home, park, beach). It will be a relaxed environment, no rushing.

How far in advance should I book my session?

At least a week is best
.

Do you have experience with children?

I have a 2 yr old and a 6 yr old.

What time of day is best for my session?

I am available most evenings and weekends. The soft, natural light of early morning or late evening hours yields outstanding photos! Usually the best time of day is 10am or 5 to 8pm for outside sessions, especially the beach. Overcast skies are ideal for beach sessions, but mother nature is not so predictable. Just before sunset is the next best option. If you are scheduling a family or child session, be sure to take into consideration your child's sleeping and eating schedule before making your appointment.

What should I wear?

Maternity sessions are all about the beauty of the baby belly. Many expectant mothers love to have pictures taken of their bare belly while others prefer to keep in covered. Either way is fine with me.

Newborns are always beautiful regardless of whether they are naked or fully clothed. Newborn sessions can take place in your home, or at another location of your choice. You are welcome to bring (or have available) any baby items that are special to you (blankets or outfits, toys, hats, special shoes or booties, stuffed animal etc.) Please consider a diaper cover if you plan to keep your newborn in their diaper.

Children should be dressed in somewhat normal attire. In warm weather, boys look nice in polos and jeans or khakis. Girls look nice in sundresses or a skirt and shirt. For cooler weather, bold colors and textures look great! Knit sweaters and deep hues of color make for some excellent photos! Multiples changes of clothes are accepted and encouraged! We can even have some fun with a costume if you'd like!

Families should wear similar tones, but not necessarily similar colors. For example, dress everyone in natural earthy toned shirts and jeans.

Couples should have fun with their wardrobe. I encourage the ladies to wear bold colors and textures and the men to wear a solid color that coordinates with his partner. Multiple clothing changes are also acceptable for these sessions. I love one dressy outfit and one fun outfit, but of course it's ultimately your decision what you'd like to wear!

Seniors should bring a few changes of clothing and shoes. I suggest at least one dressy outfit and at least one casual outfit.

Can I bring changes of clothes? back

Yes, please bring a few sets of clothes, it will make a nice choice of photos to choose from!

My session is outside, what if it rains?

1. I will gladly reschedule.
2. Get out the umbrella and have some fun, one small detail, there must be a gazeboo or roof type structure so I dont get my camera wet....

Can't decide where to do my session?

Yes, I have several locations where I love to shoot!
Please contact me if you're having trouble deciding and we can discuss some options.

Why on location instead of a studio?

I am an on-location photographer. I do have a small portable studio, although my preference is to work outdoors. However, if you choose to schedule an indoor session, We will need a room with alot of natural light.

Do you have a session fee?

Yes, I do have a session fee, It covers the cost of the shoot, my time and talent of editing photos, one session usually is 10-15hours of editing work alone. It also covers the cost of getting to the locations, and the wear on my camera and lens'.

What are sessions usually like?

I want it to be a relaxed and fun enviroment for everyone. I do not rush you through the session, I have as much time as needed. Usually they last 1-2 hours and can even go longer. I dont mind any clothing changes or prop changes. its all about getting that perfect photo! I want you to be happy!!!

What is your style?

Natural all the way. Natural, genuine expressions are what I strive to capture. The smile, the giggle, the faraway stare, even the frown. Natural light is prefered, whether it be light from a window, a shaded patio, a sun-dappled tree or an overcast sky. All photographs are shot in digital color. But I love to turn them into black and white!

What props are availible?

I have a wide selection of props some of which are shown in the galleries. You may also bring your own props if you wish examples may be: crazy hats, that favorite blanket, precious toys, baskets, bowls, plates, flower pots, dress up clothes, fairytale/halloween type costumes, etc. Be as creative as you want ...

Can I purchase a print release CD?

Yes I do offer a High Resolution CD of all the photos that turned out from your session. (This is not a copyright release, I do still OWN the photos. No editing of any kind is allowed!)

What is the best age to photograph a newborn?

As long as Mommy is feeling ready, the younger the baby, the better ~ preferably 2 weeks or younger, because they are less likely to be disturbed while sleeping, they are more "pliable"

When will I see the online gallery?

In most cases, one week after your session, an on-line slide show of your images will be published. A link will be emailed to you. Feel free to pass this link along to anyone who may be interested in viewing your portraits.

How many shots do you normally put into the gallery? back

After I do our session, I come home and work on all the photos that turned out. Usually I take about 300 photos and maybe 25 turn out. There is no guarantee how many will be put into the gallery. I do try and offer at least 20, but it does vary on each session.

How long is a session?

Usually 1-2 hours

What is a Model Release Form?

A Model Release is a form that gives me permission to use your images in my portfolio as well as in promotions and advertising.

Why do I have to sign a Model Release Form at time of sitting? back

The reason why I insist on it being signed at time of sitting, is in the situation that you decide to not order prints. I may not see you again, therefore there would not be another time to obtain a signed release.

What types of payment to you accept?

At this time I accept credit cards via Paypal (and of course cash). For more information about Paypal click here

When do I pay for the prints?

I need the full payment at time of ordering. I use a professional printing lab. I have to pay before I get the prints. This insures that I am not personally out of pocket if you decide to never pick the photos up. top
